They thumped their shot glasses together on the table and instantly started giggling like high-schoolers.
There was a variety of things on the table, but most of it consisted of emptied bottles of liquor. One such bottle lay between them.
In between giggles, he said to her, “Okay your turn now!”
She feigned a bored look on her face, but spun the bottle. It pointed to her.
They started laughing uproariously again!
“I must be jinxed! This is the third time in a row. You sure you haven’t done something to the bottle? Maybe sprinkled it with pixie dust or something, to do your bidding?” She said with a toothy smile. They were enjoying each other’s company after such a long time. They’d forgotten just how fun it was to be with each other.
He scratched his head. “Aaah, I know. I’m running out of questions and dares! But…ummm… there was always something I wanted to know from you. But, truth or dare?”
“Make it your choice this time,” She beamed at him.
He sobered up almost instantly and his face now wore a look of anticipation mixed with trepidation, “I dare you… to tell me what you didn’t… on the night of the School Farewell Party.”
She was taken aback. That was more than a decade and a half ago, and she had thought that he had never noticed.
A bemused smile spread on her face, “Are you sure you wanna know?”
His eyes sparkled with intensity. He didn’t need to answer that.
This is it! He thought. The moment of truth is here!
She took in a long breath and then spewed it out in one go,
“I’d been trying to tell you all evening that your fly was open!”
Umm…yeah… not really a thirty second tale. But its the weekend folks. Time goes slow on weekends 😛 😀
Have a Great Weekend!
