My Dear Readers,
You have always amazed me with your love, support and sense of humor. And you did not disappoint this time either. When I created the Your Line Goes Here Contest, I was hoping for exactly the kind of responses you guys gave me. Agreed there weren’t many who participated, but those who did, proved just why I love you all. There was a mix of humor, drama, philosophy and even a dose of whimsy in there. Β So eclectic!
So without further ado, let me announce the winner. Its….
*DRUMROLL!!!*
Rekha –Β wHakAahUa blog!
Her line was –
Pradita was happy about her first blog anniversary and she decided to host a party for her near and dear ones on the beach side; everybody were singing the congrats song when a sea gull joined the troupe and pitched in a chirp or two.
Congrats Rekha! You’re the proud winner of an Award with the picture of a seagull!

I promised you guys a follow up for this month’s Fone Free Day and here it is.
It was uneventfully successful!
Remember I told you I had to be socially available on Fone Free Day in this post? Thanks to that, I had absolutely no time to even unlock my phone, let alone check my notifications or chit-chat or anything else. I was acting as a hostess for most of the day, and through the remainder I was too tired to do anything else except sleep, binge on leftover food or play some cheesy songs on the guitar. Oh yes, I did manage to get some story writing done, handwritten of course! π
But that does prove one thing. Once you start doing it, curtailing your use of the phone, it starts to get easy to distance yourself from it. I had time in the evening, and on any other day I would have taken up the phone, surfed some random website or checked on some notifications, but I just didn’t feel like it yesterday. I’ve said this several times in the past that one day away from your phone is more than enough for you to realise just how much time you were wasting with it. That’s just how I felt, like all I wanted was to just relax and unwind and not even let my phone intrude on my ‘me-time’.
I hope I can start distancing myself from my phone at night-time too because I’ve noticed I’m often awake when I really ought to just sleep, all thanks to the phone. Maybe it’s time to put the ‘lock the phone away’ theory to test and see if I catch some more z’s. Hmmm….
I’m happy to tell you that we’ve got another participant in the Fone Free Day initiative – Rekha! Yes, she’s the same Rekha who won the above award. Kudos girl! Waiting for your first post on Fone Free Day and welcome to the family.
There you have it guys, the winner of the contest and my follow up post. I’m waiting on the other participants to share their Fone Free Day experiences. Β Please participate in this initiative to reduce our phone usage and reclaim our lives. Remember, one day can bring a lot of change!
Hope you have a great week.
Goodnight π

What helps me to be away from the phone is simply turning of the wifi/ mobile data when I don’t need it.
No messages, no reply, no need of the phone and hence less usage!
