No, no. This post isn’t about humorous quotes. Its about me making fun of overly sentimental quotes that I came across yesterday while researching a quote for a piece I was writing.
I don’t know why I was like this. Maybe I was exhausted and worried about my daughter’s recovery, or about the burnt lunch, or the fact that I had heaps of backlog at work. But I didn’t stop at one quote. I kept going. And this post was the result.

Remember when you gave up on a book because the first few chapters were horrible? Yeah, that right there spells death for a writer.

Block who? The sun, the view, bullies, negative people, the cow brigade. Can’t you be specific?
Playing hard to get can actually lead to the fatal and irreversible condition of loneliness.
Isn’t that obvious?! Geez, people…
Here’s another quote that actually makes sense – Closing your eyes does not make the problem go away!
I’m getting a little sadistic here.
Where have you been all this time?
Or better still, don’t come to a playground and then mope about being lonely. Go home and play solitaire.
This is one weird way of finding a mate.
Common sense is not all that common.
But the worst was this affirmation –
Here’s a quote on money that works – money doesn’t grow on trees. Quit reading silly affirmations like these and start working if you want some!
