I have a weird relationship with food. Throughout childhood and college, I looked at food merely as a means of nutrition, nothing more. I had a handful of favourites that my mother used to cook very well, but by and large, I used to have a β€˜meh’ kind of attitude to food, especially to ghar-ka-khana (homemade food).

My journey as a foodie began only when I met my husband, who’s the true foodie among the two of us.Β  I still remember how the poor thing tried to impress me by taking me to a Greek restaurant for a date, and I ended up eating nothing but boiled rice and stir-fried veges because I hated the food there! He still bears a grudge about it. But, he and my Mother-in-Law are the reason why I learnt how to appreciate good food over just food and cultivated the love for cooking in…

    • Thanks Arv. Lord knows if I’ll be able to keep it up. And it won’t be published on the blog or anywhere. So I don’t even know if I’m going to have the inclination to write everyday but here goes nothing. Thanks for reading. Btw, I always thought you were non-vegetarian, but your post on the Jaipur food fest proved me wrong 😌

Actually I was so excited to write a long comment but along with post I found non veg discussion ,all of my thoughts have gone away πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹I am sorry but I am pure vegetarian and I become foodie when I visits my hometown. I love mummy k hath ka khana πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ that’s the only thing I can’t find anywhere aur Baki sb to hostel k menu m milta Hai . Bss apne hometown Mei chutney pakode Wala famous Hai aur golgappe . Raste m Ghar jao to ek city pdti Hai vha ke samose khaye bger m nhi jata . After all I love Desi food .
