TPC Romance Week Post #8: The Watch I Lost

A gold encrusted watch I kept
Tied onto my left wrist.
A gift from me Pappy dear,
The thought of losing it
I couldn’t bear.

Then one fine summer’s night
While on a pot I sat,
I turned my wrist and its clasp
Flew open and plop it fell
Into the murky waters of toilet hell.

There stood I watching my golden watch
Lost to the waters of the loo, alas.
I knew fishing it out wouldn’t save it much,
So I said my goodbyes
And I pulled down the flush.

In response to the Daily Prompt Word: Encrusted

This is also in response to the TPC Romance Fortnight based on romance and love. This poem describes our love for our possessions.
